Location in the heart of Méribel

Nowadays, Méribel ski resort owes its reputation to its delightful environment. It also owes its success to a meeting between three men in 1938: Peter Lindsay, a British army colonel, and Christian Durupt and Paul Grillo, both architects. They had the foresight to preserve and make the most of the snowy mountains.

The area’s charming, characterful landscape comprises a variety of materials and colours: stone walls, Alpine pine and red cedar carpentry and woodwork, ‘lauze’ slate-clad roofs… This is the back drop to Le Grand Cœur & Spa’s chalet – an unusual setting in the heart of Méribel and Les Trois Vallées.

This mecca for winter sports, at an altitude of between 1 000 and 3 200 m, with its 200 ski lifts and 335 ski runs, includes the resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Les Ménuires, Val Thorens with Méribel, right at its heart. The largest ski area in the world brings together 600 km of ski runs in Les Allues Valley, at an altitude of 1 450 m, in the heart of Les Trois Vallées. Méribel is a characterful family resort and its authentic architectural charm has been handed down intact from generation to generation.
